Brunico Castle
Description
Brunico Castle lies on the top of the hill that dominates Brunico in the heart of the Pusteria Valley.
In the middle of the 13th century, the bishop of Bressanone commissioned the building of the castle to protect his lands in the Pusteria Valley, laying the foundations for the town of Brunico.
Since 2011, Bruneck Castle has been home to Reinhold Messner's fifth mountain museum dedicated to different mountain peoples.
