Vipiteno and the mines of Monteneve

(1 Day) The last town before the Brenner Pass, situated on a plain at the outlet of the Val Ridanna and the Val di Vizze. The medieval Civic Tower marks the centre of the town with its well preserved townscape, the battlemented houses with their Oriel bow-windows, arcades and wrought iron signs. Followed by a visit to the Mines of Monteneve (first mentioned in 1237) which are the highest mines in Europe and have the longest-lasting production in the Alps, now a mining-museum.
